Automatic Cold Therapy Device Operating Manual in Hospitals
Preparation: a pot of water (about 4L), a patch board.
First, (power)
open the storage box, remove the power cord, connect, press the power on/off switch and then press the ‘power’ button on the control panel .
Second, (adding water)
Connect water pipe, connect temperature sensor and pressure sensor. Note: connect temperature sensor with ‘T’ jack and pressure sensor with ‘P’ jack, can’t be wrong. then Press the ‘start’ button.
Third, (setting and pre-cooling)
press ‘Setting’ button to jump in different items: cycle times, high temperature limit, low temperature limit, high pressure value, low pressure value, and date, the setting item is highlight.
a. Cycle Times: 1-99 times, indicate water exchange between ice bag and device. Recommendation: 15-20 times.
b. Temperature Control: range of temperature between 0 ~ 20 ℃, 0.5 ℃ step be step adjustment. Recommendation: high temperature limit of 5 ℃; lower temperature of 4 ℃.
c. Pressure Control: range of high pressure between 6.0 kpa to 8.5 kpa and low pressure between 3.0 kpa to 5.5 kpa, 0.1 step by step adjustment. Recommendation: high pressure 7KPa; low pressure 3 KPa.
Modify parameter value of item, use the arrow keys to adjust.
Performance
1. cooling down 3.5 liters water from 25+-2℃ to 1℃ at room temperature in 90 minutes.
2. Seven specially designed ice bags for shoulder, elbow, wrist, waist, big leg, knee, and ankle, to meet a variety of cold therapy needs.

Complete parameter setting, press the ‘OK’ button to save the program, then the LCD screen return to the main interface.
Press the ‘Start’ button to start preparatory cooling. After the pre-cooling, the main interface will be prompted to please press ‘start’.
Tips: the device can treat the patients at the same time cooling the water, that will save times for emergency treatment. Set the temperature at 20 ℃ to start running, then press the ‘pause’ button and adjust the lower temperature to start running again.
Fourth, (patient preparation and cold therapy)
Connect the ice bag, wrapped isolation pad, and wrap the ice bag, insert the temperature sensor probe between skin and isolation pad. Press the ‘Start’ button to running. Treatment parameters can be observed about water temperature, pressure, skin temperature and treatment time on screen.
Fifth. (ending cold therapy and storage)
Press the ‘End’ key to end cold therapy. Unlock the ice bag as the water is pumped into the machine and then disconnect the ice bag. Turn off the power switch, remove the ice bag, water pipe, pressure sensor and temperature sensor, put them all in the storage box. If the long-term placement, remove the back of the machine's water hole plug, drain the water out of the machine.
As frequently use, don’t need to drain the water out
Suggestion
1. mild acute soft-tissue injury: cold therapy for 8-12 hours.
2. severe acute soft-tissue injury: cold therapy for 12-24 hours.
3. generally after surgery: cold therapy for 12-24 hours.
4. after joint replacement surgery: cold therapy for 48-72 hours. (cold therapy with functional exercise for sooner rehabilitation, Stretch knees exercise for the first day,the second day, Knee bending 30-40 degrees, the third day, Knee bending 90 degree)
5. after ligament reconstruction surgery: cold therapy for 72 hours.
Contraindications
1. raynaud's syndrome, prohibit cold therapy.
2. buerger's disease, prohibit cold therapy.
3. disturbance of blood circulation, prohibit cold therapy.
4. neck, chest, abdomen, foot ministries, carefully use cold therapy.
Tips
1. leaking from link of ice bag, replace rubber seal ring .
2. as air humidity, hydrogel beads appear. adjust the ice bag temperature to reduce it.
Maintenance and after-sales
1. Clean Ice Bag: Clean the surface of ice bag should be performed at least once every three months; if the surface of ice bag is stained with blood or exudate, it should be cleaned after treatment;
Note: disinfection tablets (symclosene-0.5 grams per tablet) and distilled water at 1: 500 disinfectant configuration, scrub with a soft dry cloth.
2. Change Water: please use clean water and If the long-term placement, more than 3 days, please pull the drainage plug, drain the water out of the machine, in case the scale may block the water-cycling system.
Note: there is a drainage hole at the back of the device, just need to pull the plug.
3. Placement: use and placement, to maintain horizontal, not tilted;
4. Warranty: we offer one year guarantee to repair and replace the components (connecting pipe, power line, pressure sensor, temperature sensor and ice bags) for free ,if it's broken by the design and manufacture.
5. Replacement: replace ice bag, water pipe, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, power line and other consumable parts, call your distributor to buy and DIY. Replace electromagnetic valve or electric relay, please call your distributor to replace by the professional or contact the hospital professional maintenance personnel.
